FTC to hold auditions for ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’

Auditions for FTC’s “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” will be held Sunday and Monday, October 22-23  at 6 p.m. at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater, 1668 South US 87.

The production will be directed by Guest Director Betty Hukill, and music directed by Dawn Hahn. Actors are asked to prepare a Broadway-style or jazz song either with karaoke tracks or sheet music for the accompanist. They will also be reading selections from the script.

About the show

Big business means big laughs in this delightfully clever lampoon of life on the corporate ladder. Follow the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant “company man,” the office party, backstabbing coworkers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love.

A tune-filled comic gem that took Broadway by storm, winning both the Tony Award for Best Musical and a Pulitzer Prize, “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” boasts a score by Frank Loesser, including “I Believe in You,” “Brotherhood of Man” and “The Company Way.”

Performances will be February 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. and February 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m.
