Austin Singer-Songwriter Darden Smith performed his original songs with help from the Essence Women’s Choir at Luckenbach on Sunday. Smith also paid tribute to Joe Ely, a famed Texas musician, who died in December.

LUCKENBACH CONCERT
The Essence Women’s Choir performed at Luckenbach Dance Hall on Sunday, April 19 as a part of the free “Stronger” event. The local group backed up famed Austin musician Darden Smith. The choir sang Patsy Cline classics like Crazy, and joined Smith for a couple of his original songs. For more photos, see page A10.
