The African Children’s Choir concert is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 14 at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at 109 E. San Antonio St., Fredericksburg. There is no charge for admission to the public concert and donations will be accepted.

Local families host 17 children, ages 8-10, from Uganda, who are part of the choir and Music for Life organizations. The children will learn about American customs, food and culture through this exchange.

Each child in the choir has faced significant hardship, often with limited access to education, according to a spokesman.

They are involved in a 100-city tour across the United States. The African Children’s Choir is part of an international, Christian organization called Music for Life that provides thousands of impoverished children throughout Africa education, discipleship and leadership skills.
