Create Healthy awards grants to advance health, wellness

Create Healthy announced new grants to nonprofit organizations across the Hill Country working to strengthen health, wellness and family stability.

The awards for July and August 2025 reflect Create Healthy’s longterm commitment to support local organizations and projects in behavioral health, early childhood development, healthy living and health education.

All Create Healthy grants support work in Gillespie, Mason, Blanco or Llano Counties, or in Comfort.

“These grants reflect the many ways our local nonprofits care for this region. Some protect vulnerable children. others help individuals gain stability and purpose and still others strengthen community wellness,” said Jayne Pope, RN, MBA, president and CEO, Create Healthy. “Collectively, they form a network of support that keeps the Hill Country healthy and resilient, and we are proud to invest in their work.”

The Q3 2025 grant recipients and their funded projects include:

• 1Hope for Kids, Inc. — Providing Hope and a Home for Kids in Crisis Safe housing and family placement services for children in crisis.

• Christian Men’s Job Corps of Kerr County — Life Skills Training Institute Program, Gillespie County Life skills training, mentorship, and personal development programs for men working toward personal stability and long-term self-sufficiency.

• Nimitz Rotary Club Charitable Fund — Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for Gillespie County Law Enforcement Equip local law enforcement with AEDs to strengthen emergency response readiness.

“These investments are about sustaining the infrastructure that keeps the Hill Country healthy and thriving,” said Laura Cook, chair of the Create Healthy Grants Council. “When we fund organizations with deep roots and proven impact, we’re creating the conditions for long-term health that will benefit current and future generations.”

Create Healthy accepts grant applications on a rolling basis, with funding decisions made quarterly following review by staff, the Create Healthy Grants Council, and the Board of Directors.
