Apaches now 8-0 on season

The St. Mary’s Catholic School baseball team took home two wins in the past week, over St. Pius X and Sts. Peter and Paul.

The St. Mary’s Catholic School baseball team took home two wins in the past week, over St. Pius X and Sts. Peter and Paul.

The Apaches’ record is now 8-0 for the season, and 3-0 against district opponents.

St. Mary’s 15, St. Pius X 0

St. Mary’s shut out St. Pius X to win 15-0 on Wednesday, April 9.

Wyatt Schoessow earned five strikeouts for the Apaches, while Garrison Ottmers earned one.

Twelve of the afternoon’s 15 runs were scored in the first inning.

Hunter Moellendorf and Isaac Gold were tied for the leading scoring position, earning three runs each.

Stetson Woerner and Otto Heep earned two runs each, and Schoessow, Lennon Seidenberger, Cort Logtin, Noah Kovar and Hanson Eilers each earned one.

Loftin was the biggest help to teammates, earning four RBIs, followed by Heep’s three, two from Woerner, and one each from Schoessow, Seidenberger, Ottmers and Kovar.

In total, the Apaches stole five bases, thanks to Heep, Schoessow, Woerner and Moellendorf.

No errors were made by the St. Mary’s team.

St. Mary’s 18, Sts. Peter and Paul 3 St. Mary’s had another convincing win over Sts. Peter and Paul during an away game on Monday, April 14.

Otto Heep was a monster on the mound, earning eight strikeouts throughout the game.

Lennon Seidenberger was the night’s leading scorer, with four runs. Stetson Woerner, Heep, Wyatt Schoessow, Hunter Moellendorf, Cort Loftin and Kenny Price all earned two each.

Noah Kovar and Alex Simmons also earned one run each.

Woerner had the most RBIs, with four, followed by Moellendorf with three, Seidenberger with two, and Heep, Schoessow, Loftin, Kovar and Price with one each.

St. Mary’s kept errors low, only marking two for the four innings.
