Preparation for potential wildfires

Since Jan. 1, 2025, state and local firefighters have responded to 462 wildfires that have burned 9,093 acres statewide, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. Fire weather conditions may lead to an increase in wildfire potential in parts of Texas over the next week.
