The Rev. Clint Pluenneke will be installed as pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Doss on Sunday, Feb. 9, during the 11 a.m. worship service.
A barbecue lunch will be served afterward in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Barbecue is being furnished, and attendees are invited to bring side dishes and desserts.
The congregation has extended an invitation to everyone to join them for the occasion, including the members of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Cave Creek, where Pluenneke is also the pastor.
Pluenneke will serve each congregation on a half-time basis, with the two churches rotating times for church and Sunday school each week.
“As we begin this new partnership in 2025, I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as a ‘circuit rider’ for both St. Peter, Doss, and St. Paul, Cave Creek,” Pluenneke said, “and I would ask for your prayers as we strive to be and make disciples in Jesus’ name.”
‘Pastor Clint,’ began his pastorate at Doss Jan. 5, to succeed the Rev. David Priem who had served the Doss congregation since July 2022, before becoming lead pastor at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg upon the retirement of the Rev. Bobby Vitek in January.
For the last 20 years, Pluenneke has served Holy Ghost Lutheran as the youth and family pastor. In addition, nine years ago, he began a partnership of serving both Holy Ghost and St. Paul Lutheran, Cave Creek.
Pluenneke is a 1993 University of Texas graduate with a B.A. in psychology, and a 1998 graduate of Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, with a master of divinity degree.
Pluenneke’s wife, Anne, is a Fredericksburg ophthalmologist, and the couple has three children, Jake, Molly and Clara.
