FTC announces cast for ‘Peter and the Starcatcher’

The Fredericksburg Theater Company (FTC) has announced the cast selections for its Season 28 winter musical, “Peter and the Starcatcher.”

The play is scheduled to open Friday, Feb. 14 for a three-weekend run ending March 2.

The Tony Award-winning “Peter and the Starcatcher” is based on the best-selling novels and upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan.

“From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, and with characters such as Black Stache and Smee, this highly theatrical production playfully explores the depths of greed and despair … and the bonds of friendship, duty and love,” said an FTX spokesman.

The cast features Henry Anderegg as Peter, Layla Rodriguez as Molly Aster, Daniel Hofmann as Black Stache and Esteban Garza as Smee.

Kairi Pyle will play Prentiss, Preston Turner will play Ted and Barry Sikes will play Lord Aster.

David Turner will play Captain Scott, Justin Elliott will play Mrs.

Bumbrake, and Robert Menking will playAlf.

Jobby Johnson will play Gremkin/ Hawking Clam, Allison Bible will play Bill Slank/Fighting Prawn, Benj Robles will play Mack, Paul Taylor will play Sanchez, and Amy Taylor will play Teacher.

The ensemble includes Kenly Kiehne, Valerie Ledezma, Yocelyn Ledezma and Lauren Nicoson.

“Peter and the Starcatcher” will be directed by FTC’s Artistic Director Courtney LeFan. Rhonda Behrends is the music director and Jolene Keefer is the costumer.

Tickets will go on sale to the public on January 27.

FTC has an ongoing need for volunteers to assist with all facets of theater operations, including set construction and painting, costume construction, greeters and ushers, stage crews, sound and lighting, and, of course, actors.

Interested individuals can learn more about volunteer opportunities by contacting the FTC office at 830997-3588.
