I hope everyone had a chance to go to the Gillespie County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show. We are so proud of all the kids and their parents. Everyone did a fantastic job of showing. Results of the show and photos are in this week’s paper.

Adalie Thomas, daughter of Craig and Shā Thomas, was entered in the Food and Nutrition Competition at the Mason County Livestock Show and Expo last weekend. She won first place in the bread division and won the Grand Champion Award. Congratulations.

Sympathy to Royce and Karen Herbort on the death of his mother, Annie Mae Herbort. Her funeral was Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Gerald Fritz would like to thank everyone who sent get-well wishes during his ICU stay Dec. 16-20 and after his wreck on Dec. 22. He and Glenda appreciated the calls and cards.

St. Peter Lutheran Church Council will meet at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at the Parish Hall.

The Gillespie County/Pilot Knob Extension Education Agency have a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at the Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Building. Members will hear a program on the Pioneer Memorial County Library.

The winter weather forecast may affect this meeting. Please check your email for cancellation if the weather turns bad.

The Doss Volunteer Fire Department will meet on Monday, Jan. 13. Officers’ meeting and servicing of fire trucks will be at 6 p.m. with the general meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Hilda United Methodist women will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Fellowship Hall. All women are invited to attend.
