Kid Fish Day slated Kid Fish Day slated on January 8, 2025
Leaf collection ongoing

The City of Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department will host a free Kid Fish Day on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 from 9 a.m. to noon at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park.

Live Oak Creek, north of the bridge to the golf course, will be stocked with rainbow trout for the event.

There will be a self-guided casting practice station and rainbow trout fishing. To allow trout time to acclimate to water, city staff asks that the area is not fished until the day of the event.

There will be fishing poles, bait and tackle available.

For information on licensing, visit Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s website, tpwd.texas.gov. For questions, call 830997-4202.

The City of Fredericksburg is has extended its Fall Leaf Collection Program through Friday, Jan. 17.

Residents must follow these guidelines to ensure pick up: Rake leaves onto the street, 12 inches from the curb; avoid parking vehicles near leaf piles; do not mix limbs, twigs, wire, rocks, bricks or other debris with leaves and if a resident is not able to remove the debris from a pile, they should call the Street Department to arrange a special pick up for which there will be a $100 fee.

The City of Fredericksburg will host a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats on Saturday, Jan. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 1, from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.

City of Fredericksburg, South Campus, Fredericksburg Veterinary Center and Gillespie Veterinary Center will vaccinate a dog or cat for $10, and microchips are available for $10.
