Billies pull away to defeat Long Creek

Harrison Langford scored nine points, including one 3-pointer to lead the Fredericksburg High School boys’ basketball team to a 53-29 win over New Braunfels Long Creek last Friday at the FHS Performance Gym.

“I thought we played sloppy in the first half,” Head Coach Tim Kaman said. “I let them know at halftime that we weren’t all on the same page. In the second half, they responded, and I was proud of our kids.”

The Billies outscored Long Creek, 23-2, in the third period, pulling away for the victory.

Wolfgang Parsons scored the first bucket of the game on a layup to put the Billies on top, 2-0.

Brooks Immel returned to the lineup and knocked down a 3-pointer in the first quarter.

A trio of Billies scored eight points each, including Jack Gioffre, Gage Bryant and Austin Greene.

Immel, Parsons and Langford hit one 3-pointer each.

Greene led the team in rebounds with a total of eight.

Sterling White had four pass deflections and Gioffre ended up with four steals and one block.
