Folks with names like Schmidtzinksy, Sagebiel, Behrends, Weinheimer, and Jenschke who were at the TCEQ ArchRay public meeting on August 19 understand the saying “Das Pferd von hinten aufzaumen.” For those of us who don’t speak German, this roughly translates as “harnessing the horse from behind” and means doing things in the wrong order. Another way of saying this is, “Don’t put the cart before the horse,” or as we say in my family, “Pants first, then shoes.”
