Grant application process opens Thursday, Aug. 1

The grant application process for organizations seeking funding from Bethany Lutheran Foundation opens Thursday, Aug. 1.

Grant applications may be obtained on the foundation website, www.blffbgtx.org or by contacting Beth Luckenbach at 830-997-7991.

Completed grant applications may be submitted online or mailed to P.O. Box 673, Fredericksburg, TX 78624 and postmarked no later than Sept. 15.

Since inception, Bethany Lutheran Foundation has awarded $504,206 to community organizations for outreach programs serving children, seniors, veterans, families and the developmentally disabled. They have also funded programs for housing, counseling, crisis assistance and Christian ministry programs.

In December of 2023, the foundation presented grants to the following organizations: Cross Trails Ministry, MOM Center, Fredericksburg ISD Education Foundation, Vereins Quilt Guild, Honor Veterans Now, The Grace Center, Der Stadtische Friedhof (City Cemetery), Living Well Learning Center, The Golden Hub, The Good Samaritan Center, Bethany Women of the ELCA, Hill Country Community Needs Council, Bandera Foster Closet, Special Olympics of Texas, Inc., Boys and Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country, Texas Ramp Project, Bethany Lutheran Church and Bethany Preschool.

The foundation consists of a nine-member governing board. Current board members are Jody Donovan, Joyce Richey, Chase Perry, Erik Iverson, Lindy Haley, Beth Luckenbach, Mike Myers, Merrily Hartmann and Keith Whited.

Ex-officio members are The Rev. Casey Zesch and Tim Dahlstrom, Bethany Lutheran Church Council President.

Bethany Lutheran Foundation of Fredericksburg, Texas, Inc., a 501(c)3 public charity was established with bequest proceeds from the Alma Braeutigam estate in 2007, and continues to be supported through public donations, memorials and bequests.

Its mission is to advance and support the discipleship of Jesus Christ through financial support to non-profit organizations serving the community.
