Representatives of the Gillespie County Wild Game Dinner gathered Tuesday, May 7, at the Fredericksburg Independent School District Agricultural Education Building for a “symbolic barn-raising” and to tour the new barn being constructed adjacent to the Agricultural Education Building. On hand for a check presentation in the amount of $400,000, to be used toward the project, were from left, Gary and Maggie Scripps-Klenzing, representing the Adam R. Scripps Foundation which supports youth projects across the county; and Wild Game Dinner board members Charlie Wilson, Chris Schoessow, Tony Klein, Dixie Cope and Lester Meier. Since its first event in 2007, the Gillespie County Wild Game Dinner has raised over $2 million to support youth agricultural education in the county. — Standard-Radio Post/A. Avila
