GCHS will honor three at upcoming Lenz Fest

The Gillespie County Historical Society and Pioneer Museum will celebrate three honorees at this year’s annual Lenz Fest on Tuesday, April 30, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Holy Family Center.

The event’s theme “HATS OFF! To My ‘Fair’ Lady and Gents!” honors the contributions of Jody Donovan, Pat Sreenan, and Nelda Haas Vogel, all of whom have contributed tirelessly to the society to continue the heritage established by the community’s founders.

A runway show will feature former queens and duchesses from the County Fair Royal Court through the years. Re-Dress will garb our Fair royalty in their gala finery.

The recipients of the 2024 Pioneer Spirit Award have supported and contributed to the Society for many years through their time, leadership, and passion for preserving our community’s history for future generations.

The Lenz Fest doors will open at 11 a.m. The fashion show and champagne luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. The buffet lunch is provided by Vivere. Guests are encouraged to wear hats.

Tickets are on sale online at www.pioneermuseum. org or by calling Barbara Ford at 830-990-8441 ext. 402.
