Local growers say barring bad weather, peaches poised for bumper crop

Peaches, according to many Gillespie County experts and growers, got the weather they needed to produce an exceptional crop, barring unexpected hail or freeze damage.

“We’re pretty encouraged by what we’re seeing in the orchards, definitely more so than the last couple of years,” said Jamey Vogel, owner of Vogel Orchard.
