No love lost on Valentine’s Day

After a prolonged foot chase on Valentine’s Day, Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a local resident when he turned himself in the next day at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center, On Wednesday, Feb. 14, around 4:28 p.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 3100 block of U.S. 87 South for a temporary dealer tag violation. The man driving the vehicle had seen deputies earlier and they had explained to him the vehicle had an unauthorized dealer tag. During the Feb. 14 traffic stop, the man driving the vehicle did not yield or pull over for the deputies, and attempted to flee, though he was caught in school bus traffic and a Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper was in front of him.
