Beekeeping is good for environment, but difficult to maintain as hobby
Many people are introducing beekeeping to their properties as part of the growing homesteading self-sustainability trend.
But experts warn that beekeeping is not a hobby to enter without some preparation.
“It’s not an easy hobby. First of all, it can be very expensive,” said Molly Keck, entomologist with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. “So you have to have some funds to initially put into it.”
