First United Bank in Fredericksburg held The Comfort Drive in January to collect donated comfort grip socks, puzzles and games and blankets for the local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. “Our initial goal was 250 items and we surpassed that and reached 781 items to distribute,” said Taylor Ward, Vice President and Community Loan Officer for the branch. Representatives of the bank will distribute the items to the four Knopp Nursing Home facilities, Windcrest and other Fredericksburg nursing homes this week.
