CHANUKKAH MARKTPLATZ CELEBRATION
At the Wednesday, Dec. 13 Chabad of Boerne event at Marktplatz, Rabbi Yossi Marrus, left (above), said, “Unfortunately, we have seen in the last couple of months, such atrocities, such hate, such terrible things happen,” recognizing modern antisemitism and the war in Israel. He said the story of Chanukkah is much like what Jewish people are experiencing today. After Marrus spoke and led prayers, Fredericksburg resident Uri Nunu and United States Army Chaplain Mendy Stern lit the Chabad Chanukkah menorah. The ceremony and prayers were followed by singing and dancing. – Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post/Lauren Elizabeth Shults
