The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office was given authorization to apply for the Rural Sheriff’s Office Salary Assistance Grant Program during the regular meeting of the Gillespie County Commissioners Court on Monday, Dec. 11.

The grant program is part of Texas Senate Bill 22 and is a crucial component to the significant budget increases granted to the sheriff’s office during budget talks held earlier this year.
