Rotary kicks off annual Toys for Tots campaign

Last year the USMC Toys for Tots program distributed over 2.4 million toys to 9.9 million children in need from 833 local campaigns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.

The Rotary Club of Fredericksburg is honored to be the local sponsor for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program in Gillespie County. We ask for our support in helping to provide joy to the children in need across our county this year.

Collection sites for new, unwrapped toys for infants through age 16 are:

  • Arrowhead Bank, 502 S Adams St.
  • Bealls, 1412 E Main St.
  • Broadway Bank, 204 W Main St.
  • Chase Bank, 150 E. Main St.
  • Chassis by Zach; 554 FM 2093
  • CTEC, 386 Friendship Lane
  • First United Bank, 1108 S State Hwy 16
  • Guadalupe National Bank, 1027 S State Hwy 16
  • Happy State Bank, 710 S Adams St.
  • Harper Library, 23247 W US Hwy 290, Harper
  • KNAF – 910 AM Radio, 304 E. San Antonio St.
  • Security State Bank and Trust, 201 W Main St.
  • Texas Hill Country Bank, 1037 S State Hwy 16.
  • Walmart, 1435 E Main on December 2 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and Dec. 3 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.)

Monetary donations may be made at https://gillespie-county-tx.toysfortots.org.

All monetary donations are used to provide toys to the children of Gillespie County.

Applications for children of low-income families living in the household of Gillespie County residents to receive toys, books, and gifts are available at:

  • Fredericksburg Convention & Visitor Bureau, 320 E. Austin St.
  • Harper Library, U.S. Hwy 290 West, Harper
  • KNAF Radio Station in Fredericksburg, 304 E San Antonio St.
  • The Good Samaritan Center, 140 Industrial Loop
  • The Hill Country Community Needs Council, 1904 N. Llano St.

Applications are required to be returned to those locations by Friday, December 8, 2023.

Delivery of the toys and an H-E-B food gift certificate donated by the Fredericksburg Police Department will be delivered to households on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023.

“Please help us fulfill the holiday dreams of children in need,” said Bob Lee, campaign organizer.
