Delbert Gale Irons

Delbert Gale Irons, 83, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2023.

A memorial service is planned at a later date. Arrangements and cremation were by Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Irons was born Aug. 10, 1940 in Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho. He married Rita Neidigh on Sept. 1, 2003, in Austin, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Irons is survived by four sons, one daughter and spouses, including Samuel Irons of New Mexico, Dan and Mary Irons, Matthew Irons and Beth Irons, all of Washington, and Bill and Sandi Irons of Maryland; step-children, Renee Sechrist and her husband, Dan, of Fredericksburg, and Kirk Burg of Austin.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Irons and his wife, Donna, and  Edgar Irons, and one sister, Sandra Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest Irons Jr. and Darrus Irons.
