Andrew Sofus Nielsen, 98, of Stonewall, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, with interment following in the church cemetery.

Nielsen was born Jan. 16, 1925, the son of Sofus Nielsen and Alma Scharnhorst Nielsen. He married Leola Kusenberger who preceded him in death.

Andrew is survived by his children and spouses, Jimmie and Gail Nielsen,  Karen and Ross Petermann and Eileen and Leland Ottmers, all of Stonewall; and Floyd and Shirley Nielsen of Fredericksburg; 11 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Emmie Lou Blessington of Houston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Percy Nielsen and Clarence Nielsen; three sisters, Ophelia Weinheimer, Dora Meier and Janie Ruth Nielsen, and a granddaughter, Christina Nielsen.
