The 33rd annual Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, on Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg. Gates open at noon and the Fest runs until 7 p.m.

The 33rd annual Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, on Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg. Gates open at noon and the Fest runs until 7 p.m.
The Fest will feature award-winning Texas wine, food and craft beer with a mix of top vintners, gourmands, music, auction and prize pull, along with some special events.
These Texas wineries will be on hand pouring over 75 wines. Guests will have an opportunity to visit with some of the wine makers and learn about their wine.
Wineries participating are Ab Astris Winery, Becker Vineyard, Blue Lotus Winery, Fiesta Winery, FlorVino, Four I’s Winery, Grape Creek Vineyard, Hilmy Cellars, Invention Vineyards, Kfire Winery, Llano Estacado, Lost Draw, McPherson Cellars, Messina Hof Winery, O’Farrell Country Vineyards, Rhinory, Rusty Hook Winery, Texas Heritage Vineyard, Texas Hills Vineyards, Texas Mead Works, Valley Mills Vineyards, and Wedding Oak Winery.
For beer drinkers, a selection of Texas craft beers will be available.
Specialty booths
The Texas specialty booths offer a variety of Texas-made products for sampling and purchase.
Participants include Ambriz Jewelry, Avalon Jewelry, Barrel King, Chocolatte’s, Chuckwagon Nutcakes, CKC Farms, Eric Fasking Fine Art, Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods, Fredericksburg Farms, Frio Country Farms, Gourmet Texas Pasta, Lady Lavender’s Garden, Other Mother Vinegar, Pecan Tree Soap Company and Rocky Top Sauces.
Also, Rough Creek Lavender, Sweetie’s Cheesecakes, Teardrop Pepper Company, Texas Hill Country Olive Company, Ruby Lee Clark/ Louise Murphy, Texas Olive Ranch, Texas Treasures By Patti, The Peachy Llama, Whiskey Morning Coffee, Wild & Well Kombucha, Wine Bottle Lights and Zonta Club of Fredericksburg.
Entertainment
Entertainment lined up to keep the dance floor busy includes:
• Noon-2 p.m. — Ben Beckendorf Blues Band.
• 2:30-4:30 p.m. — Little Elmo and the Mambo Kings.
• 5-7 p.m. — Jesse Stratton Band.
The Gargantuan Great Grape Toss will be held from 2-2:30 p.m. and 4:305 p.m.
The Silent Auction ends at 4 p.m. and the Prize Pull ends when all bags are gone.
Food offerings
Food concessionaires include Oh My Pizza Pie, Sozial Haus, Mac’n Wag’n and Opa’s.
The Fest also has the amazing Grape Expectations Cooking School, which is a highlight of the Fest. There will be four sessions held on Saturday featuring:
• Session 1, 12:15 p.m. — Empanadas Española, Chef Leo Aguirre, Eat Fredericksburg, Texas; Invention Vineyards: 2021 LB (Left Bank Bordeauxstyle blend).
• Session 2, 1:15 p.m. — Raspberry Mousse Cake, Lois Rodriguez, Texas Highways Magazine; Fiesta Winery: Sauvignon Rosé.
• Session 3, 2:15 p.m. — Churros, Leo & Marco, Fredericksburg, Texas; Becker Vineyards selection.
• Session 4, 3:15 p.m. — Brisket Fried Rice, Chef/ Owner Boo Eaker, Eaker Barbeque, Fredericksburg; Texas Heritage Vineyards: Barbera.
Each session showcases an award-winning Texas chef paired with a Texas winery. Seating is limited to 100 persons per session and the cost is $75 per person for all four sessions, plus admission into the Fest.
Admission, sponsors
General admission is $25 for adults, $5 under 21 years, and free for children under 6. Tickets are available in advance or on-site the day of the festival.
