Duecker family gathers Sept. 16 at Cave Creek

Forty-eight family members attended the 2023 Duecker Reunion held Saturday, Sept. 16, at the St. Paul Lutheran Fellowship Hall at Cave Creek. A covered dish meal was served. Grace beforehand was offered by Mark Robbins. Donna Duecker Robbins, president, led this year’s business meeting. A number of relatives in attendance were recognized. The oldest in attendance was 98-year-old Milton (Johnny) Duecker of Austin who is the only child still living of nine children born to Herman and Lillie Oehler Duecker. The youngest person in attendance was David Heimann, son of Marcos Heimann. Michael and Ruth Duecker Klein, married 50 years, were recognized as having been married the longest length of time, while Heath and Alisha Gold Burklund were the most newlywed at six years. Matt Duecker of Pflugerville travelled the longest distance to attend (89 miles), while Roger Hahne of Cave Creek traveled one-half mile to come. The Johnny Duecker family had the most family members present with 17. The group voted to give a monetary contribution to the Nebgen and Rheingold schools since a number of the Duecker children received their education at these two schools. Kelton Duecker was elected to serve as president 2024. This year’s reunion was put together by the famlies of Fritz Duecker, Ruben Duecker, Viola Duecker Heimann, Milton Duecker, Clifford Duecker and Raymond Duecker. Throughout the event, door prizes were awarded, a silent auction was held and games were played.
