BETHANY CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TEAM
On August 13, Bethany Lutheran Church kicked off its capital campaign “Building Bright Futures: Investing in Our Community’s Children” for a new preschool building in downtown Fredericksburg. The facility would add approximately 100 additional spaces to the current enrollment of 120 students. “Eighty-five percent of the children enrolled are not members of the congregation,” said Bethany Preschool director Cheryl Flink. “So this is truly a community endeavor.” The plan is first to have a capital campaign within the congregation this fall, then next year appeal to the Fredericksburg community. Pledges may be given over a three-year period. Members of the campaign team are, from left, Karen Oestreich, the Rev. Casey Zesch, Beth Luckenbach, Constance Schultz, Jim McAfee, Carl Schoessow, Joyce Richey, Ernie Loeffler, Denise Stehling, Aaron Steger, Beth Iverson, chair Bill Heath, consultant Luke Bouman, Linda McCann, the Rev. Kevin Haug, Kay Stech, Michael Yosko, Wilma McAndrew and Jody Donovan. — Submitted photo
