Gillespie Extension sets ‘Grow It Cook It’ programs

The last “Grow It Cook It” program of the season will feature Fredericksburg peaches on Wednesday, July 19.

The program will be presented by the Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Office.

“Are you tired of eating the same recipes for the fruits and vegetables in your garden? Would you like to try growing something new, but not sure where to start and what to do with the fruit or vegetable afterwards?” asked Beth McMahon, Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Horticulturist. “The Gillespie County Extension Office in Fredericksburg has the right program for you.”

Participants will learn how to care for home peach trees and how to cook with the peaches they harvest. Recipe samples are included in the program.

This program will be on Wednesday, July 19, from 12-1 p.m. at the Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Office, located at 38 Business Court.

The cost for this program is $15. Register online with a credit card at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/grow-itcook- it-tickets-486898595807.

A small credit card fee will apply when registering online. Cash and checks are accepted, and checks should be made out to Gillespie ANR Committee. Payment and registration is preferred beforehand, but can be made at the door.

For more information, call McMahon at 830-997-3452 or elizabeth.mcmahon@ag.tamu.edu.
