Free Young Eagles take flight
The Gillespie County chapter of the National Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) met Saturday, June 24, to host their yearly Free Young Eagles event. This year, 11 pilots took 60 Young Eagles on flying tours of Fredericksburg.
In 1992, the program was established to introduce and help guide aspiring pilots, aged 8-17, in the world of aviation. Gillespie County Chapter 1088 has been flying Young Eagles for 14 years.
