In 2006, the City of Fredericksburg received memorial donations from the Cox family in memory of Joe Thorp Cox and his parents, May Stein Cox and Tyrus T. Cox, to be used for park improvements at Cross Mountain. With the donation and park revenue, the city has installed benches, a visitors’ restroom
