Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days” played in my head as I pulled up to the tennis courts at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park recently for some friendly doubles. In the mid-1980s, lean and mean, I played for Odessa College and broke into the lower rungs of national rankings for junior college players.
