Signup underway for Dr. Pepper/Babolat Junior Open
The deadline is this Saturday, July 23, for tennis youths to register for the 31st Annual Fredericksburg Dr Pepper/Babolat Junior Open slated a week later, July 29-31.
“This is one of the last tournaments of the summer before fall practices and seasons get underway and it is a great way to lead into the season,” said Randall King, Fredericksburg High School tennis coach.
“It is strongly encouraged by coaches to better prepare kids through experience for the season,” King said.
Junior players under 18 years of age who are interested in participating in singles, doubles or mixed doubles action are urged to participate.
Last year, some 125 youths participated in the event, but King expects numbers to be higher this year.
