FHS softball splits games in three during tournament

The Fredericksburg High School varsity softball team competed in the Rattler Spring Break Classic Thursday, March 9 in San Marcos.

The Billies went 1-1-1, defeating San Marcos, 2-1, tying Midland-Greenwood, 1-1 and losing to district opponent Canyon Lake, 2-1.

“We were only able to play on Thursday because of weather,” head coach Travis Hejl said. “We were in one of the more competitive pools and played great.”

Games during the tournament were restricted to 55 minutes, only allowing the girls to play a maximum of three innings.

“Ties in tournaments are not uncommon at all,” Hejl said.

District season is approaching Friday, March 17 for the Billies.
