The Battlin’ Billies are back at the top of the district race.

Fredericksburg High School varsity baseball evened the District 28-4A race by beating the Boerne Greyhounds, 8-4, at home Tuesday, April 10.

The win put both teams at one loss in district with two weeks left in the regular season.

“It’s tough not to look ahead, but we need to stay focused on the next game,” coach Derrick Dietrich said. “We need to go out and have good games versus Bandera and Canyon Lake before we can focus on Boerne again. Our goal is to build momentum leading into the playoffs.”

FHS hosted the Navarro Panthers on Tuesday, April 17, but results were not available as of press time.

Next up is a road game against the Bandera Bulldogs at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 20, in Bandera.

The Billies will have two games left after that: a home game against Canyon Lake on Tuesday, April 24, and a road game against the Boerne Greyhounds on Friday, April 27.
