Billies own district honor roll


Softball rules 28-4A list with 11 selections


Fredericksburg High School varsity softball was recognized by District 28-4A for their season accomplishments.

Eleven players from sophomore to senior were among those named to the All-District list.

Sophomore pitcher Ella Weinheimer was named District 28-4A Most Valuable Player.

Second baseman Madi Findley was named Offensive MVP.

Named to the All-District First team was senior pitcher Emery Boettcher, junior third baseman Grace Duecker, senior shortstop Mia Torres, senior right fielder Kate Wenzel and sophomore left fielder Ashlyn Weinheimer.

Named to the All-District second team was senior first baseman AJ Davis.

Sophomore catchers Kamryn Robinson and Ashley Dressen, and junior center fielder Karlie Nebgen received honorable mention.

In addition to receiving All-District recognition, Ashlyn Weinheimer was named to the UIL Class 4A All-Tournament team.

Weinheimer had one of two hits for the Billies during their run at the state tournament.

Boettcher and Torres were also named as Texas Girls Coaches Association Legacy All-Star Selections.

TGCA selects a minimum if 20 players, all of which are seniors.

Findley was selected to represent FHS in the TGCA All-Star game.

The Billies ended their season as district champions with a 9-1 record and were also Region IV-4A champions.
