Billies earn pair of ties

Fredericksburg High School varsity girls’ soccer tied in both of its games last week.

FHS earned draws against Pleasanton, 1-1, on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Pleasanton, and La Vernia, 0-0, on Friday, Feb. 2, at home.

The Billies had one more road game — against the Taylor Ducks on Tuesday, Feb. 6 — before starting District 27-4A play against Wimberley at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, at Wimberley.

Bandera visits FHS on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Game time is 6:30 p.m. at FHS Stadium. The Billies travel to Boerne for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, Feb. 20 and host Canyon Lake on Friday, Feb. 23, with game time set for 7 p.m.


FHS 0, La Vernia 0

Three goalies combined to shut out the Bears in Friday night’s game.

Rebecca Sechrist, Keara Priem and Claire Nevins shared time between the posts in the Billies’ tie with La Vernia.

“Rebecca Sechrist made some great saves and Julia Freeborn had an excellent individual effort to help keep La Vernia from scoring in the first half,” coach Logan Minshew said.
