Fredericksburg High School varsity girls’ track started the season with a trimeet against Kerrville Tivy and Harper on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Antler Stadium in Kerrville. No points, medals or team standings were given in the meet, which was treated like a scrimmage. “Despite just being a scrimmage, our girls’ program already set many new PRs and just as many girls were slightly off their season PR from last year,” coach Dan Aldrich said. “I was very excited about the start to our season, especially being only Week 4 in our training. The girls have been working exceptionally well in the cooler part of the season, and they were able to see the training they have been doing affect them positively. “We had 24 girls perform better than their best mark last season in their events.” Next up is the AJ Loth Relays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at FHS Stadium. The Billies will compete against Gonzales, Harper, Kerrville Tivy and Lampasas.
