Tractors ready to leave farm behind for 2018 ride
The 13th Annual Bluebonnet Tractor Ride is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, rain or shine.
Tractors are to be unloaded half of a mile south of Doss at Doss Spring Creek Road. A drivers’ meeting will be held there at 8:30 a.m.
After the meeting, drivers and riders will set out through scenic Hill Country back roads.
A “Sag Wagon” will follow the tractors to provide assistance to those that experience mechanical or fuel problems.
Antique vehicles other than tractors are welcome (automobiles, trucks, etc.); however, the speed on the tractor ride will be determined by the slowest vehicle and will most likely be about five miles per hour.
The ride will stop at the Pecan Creek School for a barbecue lunch break and meeting.
The cost of the ride will be $30 in advance and $35 the day of the ride. There is a reduced cost of $15 for youth between the ages of 16 and 19 holding a current driver’s license.
These fees will include ride participation, the lunch meal and a souvenir cap. If friends or relatives want to participate in the ride but do not have tractors, the cost of riding on a “People Mover” and a meal will be $20 per person.
Early registration with payment for a seat on the ‘People Mover’ is required to guarantee a space.
The cost for the meal alone will be $10.
