Juvenile airlifted to San Antonio hospital after overnight stabbing incident
A juvenile was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital and a 19-year-old man was arrested by Fredericksburg Police Department officers after a drug-related incident early Wednesday morning at the skate park at Old Fair Park.
Sloan Hayden Ball, 19, of Fredericksburg, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, said Lt. Terry Weed of FPD Criminal Investigation Division.
At 3:28 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, patrol officers responded to a call at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in reference to two males being treated for “stab or knife wounds.”
Officers learned that a fight ensued due to a drug deal that stemmed between two males at Old Fair Park (next to the H-E-B store on South Adams Street) in the skate park, according to a police report.
The victim, a juvenile whose name was withheld, sustained multiple cuts throughout the body and head area, Weed said. He was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio and at this time, the medical condition of the victim is unknown.
Police arrested Ball for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.
His bail was set by Municipal Court Judge Daniel Jones at $25,000.
Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted the FPD with securing the crime scene. Arresting officer at the time was Patrol Officer Shane Purvis. Detective Bradley Durst was called to the scene and is the assigned detective for the case investigation.
