Enrollment counts rise for schools

Labor Day count shows slight bump in student numbers

Students in Gillespie County’s schools have all reported for classes.

Combining these schools, Gillespie County saw a total of 4,288 report back to school. Some of these numbers have changed since originally reported after the first day of school in August, as more kids have reported back.

After Labor Day, Fredericksburg Independent School District reported 3,141 students, Harper reported 568 students, St. Mary’s reported 298, Heritage School reported 145 and Doss CCSD reported 35.

FISD

Fredericksburg ISD reported a grand total of 3,141 students in 2019. That is up from 2018’s total at 3,110 and up 85 since the first day of school.

Individually, Fredericksburg Primary School rose by 21 students, the Fredericksburg Elementary School rose by 17, Fredericksburg High School rose by 19 and Gillespie County High School rose by five.

The Harper ISD reported a district total of 568 students in the classroom. Harper’s numbers jumped by two more students since being reported on the first day of school.

Individually, the high school lost one student, the middle school gained a student and the elementary school gained two students.
