Area school enrollments rise by 60
Now that the Labor Day holiday has passed, students in Gillespie County’s seven school districts are settling down for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Students numbered 4,302 on Tuesday following the holiday in the Fredericksburg Independent School District, the Harper ISD and the Doss Consolidated Common School District as well as at Ambleside, Heritage, St. Mary’s and Providence Hall.
That number is up by 60 students from the first day of classes when 4,242 students were at their respective schools.
Following is a breakdown by grade levels at each school in Gillespie County campus. The numbers in parenthesis are those reported on the first day to reflect where the changes occurred.
Students numbering 3,155 are now enrolled in Pre-K through 12th grade in the Fredericksburg ISD.
On the first day of classes on Aug. 28, the FISD reported 3,106 students.
A year ago, 3,203 students were in class following the Labor Day holiday.
