Gillespie County Veterans Service Office is hosting a Health Care Planning Workshop Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Gillespie County Annex 2, 102 E. San Antonio St, Suite C. During this workshop, speaker Catherine Rivera, will talk about health care planning and why it’s important. Topics include: how to maintain health care control when mentally or medically unable to speak, review of the VA Advanced Directives, living wills, the medical power of an attorney, exploring who would be an appropriate health care agent and how to make sure one’s wishes are known. After the presentation, there will be time for a question and answer session. Rivera is a licensed clinical social worker for the South Texas Veteran’s Healthcare System. This workshop is for veterans and their spouses and family members. Space is limited and people are encouraged to RSVP.
