Hope everyone had a very blessed Easter.
Coming up is the Headwaters for Heroes event on Saturday, April 27, at Headwaters Saloon. There will be auctions, shooting events, games and more. Barbecue and crawfish will be served.
The regional track meet happens Friday and Saturday and Harper will have 17 athletes competing.
National Day of Prayer will take place at St. James Lutheran Church this year and a program of prayer, singing and scriptures will start at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend this community event.
The Class of 2019 will be helping with a Project Graduation event on May 9 at Mr. Gatti’s in Fredericksburg. Hours are from 5-9 p.m. and if you tell the cashier you are there to support Harper, the class will get part of the proceeds of your meal.
St. Anthony’s Catholic Church members are still selling prize tickets for their annual Mother’s Day Fish Fry. There will be lots of fish and all the trimmings, prize drawing and more.
Frontier Days is coming up on May 17-18. The community hall won’t be finished in time, so Tres Molinos will hold a dance at their place on Ranch Road 783 North (Doss Road) after the rodeo.
Lester Meier Rodeo Company will once again be running the rodeo events starting at 7:30 p.m., and you will be able to enjoy a great barbecue meal at the picnic tables under the shade trees in the park.
It all starts on Friday night with the county roping and heats up again on Saturday morning with the kid fish, washer tournament, domino tournament and the Little Miss and Little Mr. contests.
The concession stand will be open for lunch also and the parade will start off at 3 p.m. and travel Main Street as always.
It was decided not to have the 290 Market this year and Pioneer-Park Drive will be open. The museum will also be open for viewing that day.
Graduation is a bit early this year and is set for Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m. The eighth grade will have ceremonies the evening before.
