Active, unsettled weather pattern continues
News, Second Front
Hill Country Weather with Dr Doppler Cary Burgess, on May 27, 2026
Active, unsettled weather pattern continues

The Hill Country can expect unsettled and active weather to continue periodically for the next five to seven days.

Extended forecast models keep temperatures cooler than average and wetter than average through the first full week of June.

As expected for this time of year, it will be humid both during the day and at night.

The humid air will help produce isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms on a daily basis through much of the week ahead into early next week.

Thursday could be one of our drier days across the Hill Country, but stray storms are still possible.

Wednesday begins with cloudy skies and lingering showers and thunderstorms from an overnight complex that developed across West Texas Tuesday.

Eventually, skies give way to a mixture of sunshine and clouds.

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Highs warm into the lower and middle 80s.

Storms could produce some hail and gusty winds where they pop up during the day.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies continue Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

Low temperatures end up in the middle to upper 60s with isolated showers and patchy fog possible overnight.

Partly sunny skies are expected Thursday with isolated thunderstorms possible.

Highs top out in the middle 80s.

The humidity becomes more uncomfortable Friday and Saturday and this will be felt during the morning hours over the weekend.

Daytime highs warm into the middle and upper 80s Friday through Sunday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible each afternoon and evening.

A few storms could be on the strong side or even severe briefly.

Friday morning begins innocent enough with lows in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday morning will be very humid with low temperature readings generally in the lower 70s.

It turns out that Saturday and Sunday may offer our highest opportunity for scattered showers and thunderstorms during this forecast period.

There is a weak cold front that comes into play Monday and Tuesday, keeping storm chances alive along with slightly cooler temperatures.

Highs on Monday will remain in the 80s with widely scattered storms possible.

Lows drop into the middle and upper 60s each morning on Monday and Tuesday.

Tuesday could be cooler with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s with rain and a few thunderstorms possible across the area.
