911 dispatchers are often called the “first” first responders. They are who people call on their worst day for help. However, as the voices on the phone, rather than a firefighter or law enforcement officer on scene, the profession often gets overlooked. National Public Safety Telecommunications Week from April 12-18 is a time to recognize these workers.
