FISD Education Foundation receives third $100,000 gift

The Fredericksburg ISD Education Foundation received the third $100,000 installment of a $500,000 endowment from local resident and longtime FISD supporter Mark Przywara.

The contribution brings his total giving to the FISD Education Endowment Fund to $300,000 over the past three years.

The Education Foundation established the permanent, self-sustaining endowment to ensure continued excellence and innovation in Fredericksburg ISD for generations to come.

Przywara has committed to contributing a total of $500,000 to the fund over a five-year period. Przywara most recently served as Vice President of Development on the FISD Education Foundation Board of Directors.

“Through this endowment, the Education Foundation will utilize long-term planning to build funds that support innovation in Fredericksburg ISD well into the future,” said Przywara.

The endowment will be managed by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which oversees similar funds for regional nonprofit organizations. Gifts made to the endowment will be maintained in perpetuity, with only a portion of the annual investment earnings distributed each year. Remaining earnings will be reinvested, allowing the fund to grow over time and provide long-term financial stability for the foundation’s mission.

Przywara hopes his commitment will inspire others in the community to invest in the future of local public education.

“I’d like to challenge Gillespie County residents, families, alumni, businesses and philanthropists to consider making a long-term investment in the quality of our FISD public schools by contributing to this endowment,” he said. “Earnings from the endowment will provide sustainable funding for FISD programs, creating a permanent source of support that will benefit our students and community for years to come.”

The FISD Education Endowment Fund provides an opportunity for community members to support innovative programs, educational enrichment, and new opportunities for Fredericksburg ISD students and teachers, ensuring that excellence in education continues for future generations.

To donate to the endowment fund, visit fisdkids.org/endowmentfund or mail a check to FISD Education Foundation, P.O. Box 3446, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
