Christopher Wanner

Christopher Wanner

I was born in Fredericksburg, Texas in 1973 (52 years old) proudly one of the first one hundred children born at Hill Country Memorial Hospital delivered by Dr. J. Hardin Perry. I went to St. Mary’s Catholic School where I served as an altar boy until eighth grade, and I graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1991. After graduating, I went on to study Business Management at Austin Community College campuses in Fredericksburg and Austin.

My business career started in 1992 working for Bank One (now Chase Bank). I was first a teller and then earned the role as commercial teller and vault auditor. I continued my banking career achieving personal banker including account reconciliations for both personal and commercial customers over the next ten years in Fredericksburg, Austin (Travel Team) and a small local branch in San Marcos, Texas.

I decided to move back to Fredericksburg and start working at Hill Country Memorial Hospital for the next twenty years managing the registration, ER, switchboard and the Wellness Center business office departments. During this time, I studied for two years to become a project management professional for Hill Country Memorial Hospital. As a project manager, I worked in thirty plus departments identifying areas to improve through communication, removing waste and documenting processes at all levels.

I have been married twice, and I have a beautiful daughter, Bailey Reed, and mother, Betty, who both live in Fredericksburg.

I love Fredericksburg and am proud to live in my hometown. I have seen many changes over the years and am very blessed to see so many families moving here and returning to make it their home.

I know that I am the best fit to serve as the next Gillespie County Treasurer because I have the skill set to understand both the operations and accounting areas, to maintain an efficient and productive department, to include looking for best practices from other areas all while avoiding any backlog of filing deadlines and other issues.

I realize this will be no small task to learn what it takes to be treasurer, but I know I have the full support of the community and countless resources from my past career.

In closing, I ask for your vote so I may serve and represent all the taxpayers in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County. Your vote matters. Thank you.
