Into the light with Golden Glow angel food
Another recipe I found to investigate from Kerrville’s Wesley Philathea Class Recipes (1931) was one submitted by Florence Butt, then 67 and a widow. Because her husband, Clarence, had suffered from tuberculosis, she moved her family to Kerrville in 1905. It struck me as interesting that Florence, a devout Baptist, submitted a recipe to a Methodist organization. My aunt Shirley, who had also contributed recipes, knew of her, and my uncle Bill Hahn, later the manager of Peterson’s Garage, certainly knew her sons well.
