Easter has Easter lilies, Halloween has pumpkins but Christmas, Christmas has a lot of “Christmas plants.” I never noticed how many until I was putting together this column and checking my word count. There are poinsettias, Christmas amaryllis, Christmas cactus, Christmas roses, mistletoe, holly, and of course, the Christmas tree. There are even Christmas radishes, though I suspect that this is more of a local tradition in Oaxaca City, Mexico.
