Gillespie County voters will see a lot of tight races in the primary election

After filing for office closed on Monday, there are 10 locally contested races on the Republican ballot and no contested races on the Democratic one for the 2026 primary election.

Incumbent Gillespie County Judge Daniel Jones has a challenger in Esther Schneider. District Clerk incumbent McKenna M. Herbort will be challenged by Cynthia A. Koenig as will Marshall Akin, Constable of Precinct 4, whose challenger is Armando E. Romo.
